Laura the Complainer, no more. I can actually wear scarves now! And layers, hurrah!

Over the weekend, the mercury dipped quite low. Snot-nosed, though quite delighted, I urged the fon fon ru to pull down two quilts from our winter storage and happily snuggled Labor Day away. I can be quite agreeable, you know, when the conditions are right. At the moment, it's a cool and breezy 71F, and I am in my jammies, waiting for a batch of cornbread to bake. I have a mug of tea waiting for me next to my pile of books to consume this week.

I'm quite eager to start reading A Storm of Swords, the third book in the Song of Ice and Fire series. It's a hulk of a book, but I'm determined to finish it before the week ends. I finished The Two Towers and The Return of the King over the long weekend, and now I feel like I should read all of Tolkien's other works. I'm somewhat familiar with his critical essays, having studied Old English and whatnot, but his fiction is just fantabulous.

I'll stop the jibber jabbering nonsense and leave you with my two favorite indulgences: candy and books!

  31. I absolutely love this whole look! The red scarf and red lips look so good on you~

I need a bit of sun on me right now~! XD

I was intimidated by how red #6 looked, but once blended out, it gives you a pretty glow~

  32. How can you go wrong with candy and books? Although candy fingers on nice, crisp pages of a good book would be a bit of a downer.

I loooooooooove this outfit, it is simple but super cute.
