Outfit # 55 of my 6-Month Challenge
I started drinking coffee again recently. I drank it liberally during undergrad and especially in grad school but after I graduated, I didn't feel the need to have a daily cup anymore. But now, I really feel the need for caffeine. I wore this outfit the first day I started drinking again, and of course, spilled my first swig of coffee all over my front. Thank goodness the stains didn't show. Somehow, this dress is coffee-absorbent! That or I'm really blind.

Rekindling my relationship with caffeine makes me super happy. I'm reminded how awesome mornings can be-- NOT! Personally, I like my coffee black with just a bit of hazelnut syrup

How do you like your caffeine?

  2. I literally almost jumped into the computer to take your entire outfit. Stop doing that Laura!!! I have like a long list to take from your closet now. o.o

Your dress is in my favoritestestest color, I almost had an entire wardrobe in that same color until my fiance pointed out that I had too much of it in my closet. Which I denied, of course, but found true when I saw the laundry hanging out to dry.

And oh, that scarf. I can't even tell you how long I've been looking for something like it, won't mind if it was bigger just the same. There was one time I was at one stall and this lady was holding the only animal print scarf almost like yours and I literally wanted to grab it from her, scream MINE, and run away. It took so much energy to walk away!

I have my coffee black with splenda, because that's what my medical program allows me to have. BUT if I would have a choice I would have loads of cream in it :)

  3. I never drink coffee at home but can't resist at Starbucks, especially a gingerbread latte!! I love the colour of your dress, it's perfect for brightening up a chilly day! x

  4. Love the colour of that dress, and it's great that it's stain-proof! woots! I'm a coffee-addict since my college days but since last year, I've switched to green tea, same (actually it's got higher) caffeine content but it's healthier cuz I don't need to add creamer and sugar :)

    Cheers,

  5. I wore almost the same scarf yesterday! Mine wasn't DIY, though, so it was slightly less awesome. Exact same color tones and pattern, though.

I like my hot coffee with lots of sugar and no milk, but my iced with sugar and milk. And NO WHIPPED CREAM. That whipped cream at Starbucks is evil and disgusting (unless you like a waxy film in your mouth)

  6. I love my coffee! I drink it black and nothing else. Your pink dress is fabulous paired with the leopard scarf. Love that your scarf is a DIY. Heather

  7. I am all about coffee - I could seriously never give it up. And nice work on the coffee absorbent dress...I could really use that. Plus the pink color is really cute and I love it with the leopard scarf.

  12. You look adorable! I love the way you style that scarf. I really need to branch out into animal prints. I shall do that... NOW! =D

I spill things all over myself constantly. On semi-rare occasions, I manage to drop food down my shirt... and I don't really wear low cut shirts, so I haven't the faintest idea how it happens.

  13. The shade of your dress is great and I'm glad that you are enjoying coffee again...and, being Italian, I love my espresso macchiato!

  14. I'm not a coffee drinker myself more of a tea fan. My bf however is a coffee addict so my house smells like it every morning anyway. He's also very messy and just loves to spill it all over the counter or kitchen floor for me to find later and complain about lol

  15. I usually skip caffeine because when I do get it I'm jumpy. But, I do like decaf tea in the morning with amaretto coffee mate and splenda. It tastes like king cake, which is kind of cinnamon and sweet at the same time.

  16. I like mine to be very sweet but caffeinated! I don't drink it daily, but usually on the weekends, which makes no sense at all.

  17. My coffee is always large with two milks... I used to take sugar in it but I weaned myself from it the first time I went on Weight Watchers and never felt the need to go back.

I am fully addicted to it now. But I remember when I started drinking it in undergrad. I called my best friend and was like "I'm amazed at how much I'm getting done? Who knew coffee was such a wonderdrug?" She was like... old news...

Speaking of caffeine, I'm off to get a diet coke. Glad your dress was coffee-absorbent!

  18. I switch between coffee and green tea (LOVE GREEN TEA), though I have a cup of coffee every morning. Some mornings I switch it up, but it's usually black. I do love gingerbread lattes, though... ;)

  19. I drink a large iced coffee every morning. Even when it's freezing out. I think I feel like if I drink it with a straw and it's cold, it will go in faster and work faster. I know that I'm crazy. You don't have to tell me.

    Great dress!

    xo,
    Tracy

  21. How cool that your dress is coffee, absorbent! And even if it wasn't I'm sure you can cover it up somehow with the beautiful leopard scarf ;) This dress looks beautiful on you, what a great way to start a blah Tuesday - love the vibrant color.

As a student you would think that I drink coffee all the time to stay awake but I don't. It doesn't work for me. I usually just drink coffee as a snack when I want to smell coffee beans. As of late I have been drinking redbull to stay awake...Have a great day my dear.

  22. Such a pretty color for the dress. I love the leopard print scarf. You have the prettiest clothes.

I'm not really a coffee drinker but I absolutely love how it smells.

  23. Oh no! I hope the coffee didn't burn you! But your dress is def coffee absorbent because I don't see any stains either :)

I just had a nice hot cup of coffee today as well. I don't feel the need to drink it to start my day, but I like the satisfaction I get when the comforting liquid is in my body :) haha

  26. Just found your blog through Bekah's. You're so pretty! Love this dress & scarf combo.

I used to be a major Diet Coke addict, but my GI doctor told me I was destroying my stomach lining, so I quit cold turkey! It's been able two weeks now.

  30. That dress is a beautiful color and looks great on you! I love it paired with the leopard scarf. I usually have 2-3 cups of coffee a day, each with 2 packets of Splenda and half and half :) I am a coffee addict.

  31. I love your Wardrobe, this colour is stunning on you, and thank you for the comments on my blog, I loved dressing a bit goth rock a few years ago but lost confidence and interest, but that skirt is rekindling my love :) x

  32. Wow, that dress sounds magical! I like to use scarves as bibs personally haha. But if I could find a magical stain absorbent dress that is as cute at yours, I would wear it all the time :)

  33. Are you really ready for my A.M. repetoire? I hit snooze for 1 hour...yes you read that right. I wake up when I finally hear that last BEEP. Then it takes me about 3 cups of coffee to fully come alive. I like dunkin donuts french vanilla coffee with coffee mate french vanilla creamer. That's it... After all that, it's lunchtime.

  34. I JUST published a post about leopard print, and here you are with that cute scarf :) I love it mixed with red, it's exactly the glam and fab that I was talking about.

  35. I don't think I could go without my daily cup(s) of coffee! Welcome back to that club :) I take mine with flavored creamers. Right now I'm in love with Bailey's Toffee Almond creamer, but my all-time favorite is hazelnut.

I was just thinking of pairing my leopard print circle scarf with bright pink - we must be on the same wavelength!

  40. Laura, what a fabulous outfit! I love, love it! You see, this is the kind of outfit I would be willing to give up my pajama pants for! The fuchsia and the animal print go together perfectly! Totally one of my favorite outfits! :)

  41. This is such a lovely color on you, Laura. Pretty pretty pretty.

I'm rather particular about my coffee, too. I add just a bit of sugar mixed with either ground cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice and a few splashes of cream. Mmm :)

  44. Currently, caffeine and I are having a spat and aren't talking to each other. I miss it. When I drink it, it's black. No additives. Nice, pure and strong - just like I like a man. Someday, I hope we reconcile and put our differences behind us. Till then, I'll just wistfully watch everyone else enjoying it's company.
