A Pho-ntastic Time... and my disgusting habits

sdfpicnikfile_XU0KfzSDC19650SDC19651asfSDC19645

It snowed yesterday. And it's brutally cold outside. Too cold to take photos outside even if the lighting is optimal. I'm not that crazy, folks. But yesterday was the perfect time to get some pho in my belly! It's cold, winter days like this when I am content as a bug with just a large bowl of hot, spicy broth with tons of noodles, bean sprouts, and Sriracha.

I took photos of my food before I doused it in that red, hot goodness. If you saw how red the broth was, you would think I was eating Tabasco sauce (which I HATE, btw). I am quite disgusting when it comes to eating pho, shabu-shabu, or hotpot, so I never go out to do that with friends. I like my food sooooo spicy, I won't eat it unless it makes the snot run out of my nose. I know, disgusting.

What do you eat on cold, wintry days?

  1. Ha ha! It's not disgusting, you are just enjoying your food :) Cold winter days involve anything in a crockpot (chili, stews). Love that cape!

  6. We've been eating a tonne of soup and grilled cheese sarnies - it's been bitterly cold in Michigan lately and it's the only thing that truly warms me up. It got to the point where we actually went and brought 10 tins of tomato soup from the store. Nomnom

  11. I see you near the orange soda. I don't usually drink it, but sometimes the Kel in me needs some...

I honestly don't know what any of the foods you mentioned are (am I a bad person? I'm not very cultured) When I'm cold, I usually eat tomato soup. My mom got me a whole box for Christmas.

  16. I LOVE PHO! It's been entirely too long since I have had it and today it is freezing out... So I'm thinking I may have to talk my husband into picking it up on his way home!

I like spicy food when it's cold. Anything spicy - give it to me!

  18. I've never had Pho but since I'm deathly allergic to spicy food its probably a good thing ;) lol I'm more of a unadventurous chicken soup kinda girl myself haha.!

  19. Homemade soup! Lots and lots of it. And you're not disgusting. Hot/spicy/steamy food induced runny noses are a fact of life. Hehe.

I really like this outfit. Grey and navy are always so pretty together. The proportions are great, too. Flow-y tops (or, a cape in this case) and skinny jeans never fail.

  20. Very pretty cape. I love the way it drapes on you. Yeah, I eat pho disgustingly spicy too, but the good thing is my mom and mom-in-law makes the best pho so I never have to eat it in public ;)

  26. I want pho so much, now, damn it! You're definitely not disgusting... whenever I used to go for pho with my asian club in college (yes, we had a club) you could always tell everyone's nationality by the color of the soup bowls!

  38. It's way to cold, even here in TN, to take outside photos. I tried that on Monday in 20 degree weather, wearing tights and a dress. Duh to me.

Love your cape and shop accessories! Nothing wrong with hot-food-runny-nose! It's natural :)

  40. i've always wanted to try wearing scarf but i don't have a high neckline. i'm afraid it won't look good at me. love the scarf and no winter here, just heavy rains. it makes you curse the life out of you cause it ruins your shoes.

  41. LOVE pho!! Also love shabu shabu, but nothing beats pho on a cold day.
