Yesterday, the tornado sirens went off for longer than I've usually heard them. The weather had been particularly strange throughout the day. It started off being really muggy and humid, then it got VERY rainy, then extremely sunny, then really windy. I was preparing dinner in the kitchen (which has tons of windows) when the sirens started blaring. I checked the weather alert on my phone and apparently, a funnel cloud was spotted only a few miles away from where I live.

Being a total wuss, the panic immediately set in. And my hyperactive imagination went wild. I ran to the basement, hoping all 3 of my cats would follow me or else if the tornado did hit, they would be fluttering debris never to be found again. But I'm just paranoid. And we're all safe and sound.

I went out afterwards to take pictures of the unexpected blooms in my yard. The photo above is one of them. I don't know what kind of flowers they are, but they sure are pretty. AAAAAND... this is the last of my photos from before I cut my bangs. I'm so excited for you to see my new bangs more often! I was so excited I even changed the layout of my blog.

Lastly, I've been receiving comments that people can't pin images from my blog. I've rectified that problem now, so you can pin your heart out! While you're at it, follow me on pinterest :)

  2. How scary. I've only ever experienced Tornado watches - quite a few actually but nothings ever occurred close to our part of town. Which is good because i'd panic like hell. I have huge fears of not being able to hear the alarms either because the sound of the traffic on the freeway drowns everything out close to us! Oh how I worry. Glad you and your three kitties are well x

  18. Eek! I'd be in the basement if I heard sirens, for serious. I barely even register earthquakes, but I think I would definitely start emergency preparations if there was a tornado nearby. I love this bohemian top! The snake belt is so cool, too. Finally joined Pottermore and I'm a Slytherin. Hiss.

  21. That blouse is gorgeous on you, Laura! It makes me want to own something equally appropriate. for sun and flower photo-taking.

Cath and I are extremely terrified by tornadoes/funnel clouds as well. I've only seen one in my life -- real life, but I think the fear comes from watching the Wizard of Oz when I was 18 months old. Still one of my favorite movies ;)

Love the new blog look! Teal and brown scallops! So pretty!

  26. I know the feeling! Tornado season is upon us...thus far nothing in downtown yet and I have no idea what to do in the case of a tornado living in a high rise.
