Faux leather shorts

I know I've been MIA for a while but only because I've been spending every free minute with some of the greatest people ever. Thank you for all your well-wishes about the market! My good friend M helped me out with that on Saturday. On the whole, the market went well, even though it wasn't the best event for my target demographic. Still, I made a few large-ish sales that boosted my numbers and confidence to do more shows.

After a tiring day of selling, we watched Battleship (aka, the most ridiculous movie of the year), played Cards Against Humanity, and drank to our hearts' content. Early on Sunday morning, my friend J surprised us with a visit, and we spent the next couple days just hanging out, nomming on fluffy pancakes, watching Adventure Time, and walking everywhere. The gorgeous weather held until yesterday, so we pretty much lazed around in the sun again. All this fun has delayed my Monday to today, so I'm frantically rushing to meet some deadlines and check stuff off my to-do list. If you're expecting a letter/email/response from me, know that it's coming asap!

Finally, a word on faux leather shorts: amazeballs. I can't believe I put off getting a pair of these until now!

  3. Laura, you look amazing! The shorts are to die for but pairing them with those tights was genius! I love how your personality shines through with this outfit. I've been MIA a bit myself and my apologies for that. I had knee surgery, you see, and am still in a world of pain. On a positive note, laying here, in this hospital grade bed which has been positioned in the middle of my living room, I have time to catch up on my blog reading now! :)

  15. There are so many things to talk about regarding this post. Firstly, I am glad that the show went well, you sold some stuff, and boosted your confidence! And of course, had time to celebrate and relax with friends. Always good!

I can't believe you thrifted such an amazing jacket. Well, yes, I can actually, but !!!!! You lucky lady, you :)

I am so living vicariously through you and your awesome studded boots (from your last post) and these faux leather shorts. I can be pretty self-conscious about wearing certain things when I probably shouldn't be.

  17. love the color combos in the outfit! congrats on your sales! and ...battleship. oh dear. what a terrible movie. if you were planning to see oblivion, it may be equally as bad. just less blowy-uppy. and ive heard good things about cards against humanity and might just have to shell out the bucks before i have my housewarming party..

  18. All the colors, so pretty like a unicorn! Or a Lady Rainicorn ;P

Sorry I missed wishing you luck on the craft show. I've been kind of MIA myself. Though mostly for no good reason.

  19. Love your outfit missy, the mix of colours is gorgeous :)

Still haven't got the guts to wear fake leather shorts! And now being preggers, methinks they would look even worse haha

  21. I'm happy to hear you made some good sales at your first show! I'm sure the experience will prove even more invaluable.
May I just say, I LOVE that you are wearing fingerless gloves. I'm inspired by bloggers who play around with unexpected accessories and they look WAAAY better on you than they do adorning the ends of Madonna's strangely jacked arms.
