The procrastinating perfectionist

My procrastinating ways are getting the better of me. Early this week, I realized that I had less than a fortnight to get my display table for the upcoming market in order. In total panic, I've cut out all interweb activity, restricting myself to morning-only email checking, Pandora streaming, and mini updates on facebook or instagram. The rest of my days have been jam packed with planning, making, and more making.

A good thing about being immersed in hand sewing and packaging is that I can watch movies or shows while doing so. I've recently discovered a few that I now cannot live without. Namely, Call the Midwife, Mr. Selfridge, and Upstairs, Downstairs. I also managed to squeeze in my favorite episodes of Coupling while finishing up some felt doughnut paraphernalia. Obviously I'm on a BBC kick, but I'm quickly running out of titles to watch! Any recs?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned. I'm hoping for some respite from all my panic-work, but I know I'll have to dive right back in to keep myself in schedule (that's the perfectionist in me talking). But the procrastinating me would probably wait until Monday.

Happy Friday!

  3. Old or new Upstairs Downstairs? They're both awesome! Call the Midwife is next on my list. I plan on doing a lot of procrastinating this weekend when it comes to getting all my students' final exams graded. And, also, I love that printed top of yours. So pretty.

  4. Sound like you're on a BBC viewing train, haha! There's loads to watch, Call the Midwife, Ripper Street, etc. Not certain about the programming in your area, but they were also good.

  5. Your shoes are perfect. How do you maintain that nice turquoise hair color? If I dye mine turquoise, it fades into icky poison green very fast :/!
    Happy weekend :3

  6. I don't know if it's on the BBC or not but we've been getting a kick out of a British show called Plebs. It's kind of cute.

And I work so much better under pressure - I always wait until the last minute on stuff!

  7. Glitter shoes, yay! I have to say I am the worst kind of procrastinating perfectionist as well. Sometimes I wish I could change but other times, eh.

  8. I recently watched a BBC remake of Emma with Johnny Lee Miller, it was fairly rad. Jekyll is also a good one. Good luck at your craft show, you will rock it. Love your look here :)

  11. BBC shows are great. I'm on a 90s cartoon kick right now, but my sister has me watching Misfits too. Good times. I really should be doing school work, but... TV.
Anyway, I'm loving your sparkly shoes and the pretty pattern on your eshakti top!

  14. I have a problem with putting off things until right before too. It's like a mad dash to get everything done. I've got to work on that this year.

  18. Are those SEQUINED brogues? I love them! I'm always on the lookout for cute flat shoe styles and brogues have been a nice change from the ubiquitous ballet flats. (Loafers can be cute too)

I wish you luck with your panic-work (great term!) and look forward to hearing about your first show.

  19. I'm sorry to hear its been so hectic Laura!! I know what you mean about the perfectionist and procrastinating feelings. If I'm not doing something productive every second of my day, I feel guilty. But then my procrastinating side wants to take time off. Oh dear, there is no winning is there?! hahaha.

Looking cute in this outfit btw!! Your hair is always the perfect pop of color ;)

  22. I have been meaning to watch all of those shows. I just finished watching series 1 - 5 of Doc Martin (an ITV, not BBC, production). Funny stuff! Series 6 is being filmed now, I think. Can't wait until it's available to watch over here! :)

Best of luck as you continue prepping for the market! Don't panic. Just breathe :)
