Red Door

One thing I can say for sure about St. Louis is that it's full of gorgeous buildings. While walking around downtown, I came across this lovely church with large red doors. Across from it is the St. Louis Public library: a gorgeous gem of architecture with its spacious hallways, vaulted ceilings, and marble columns. If we had more change to feed the meter, I would have stayed in there much, much longer.

It's been a productive and soothing Saturday so far. I went to market early this morning  to stock the pantry with our weekly essentials. I'm a bit more caught up with emails and unpacking, and I think I'll spend the rest of the afternoon on some projects I've been putting off for a while now. The job hunt is going. Slow, but it's going. I haven't applied to many places, but I'm hoping to fix that sometime next week when I have some more free time. :)

Since I started applying, I've been going back and forth with what to do with my hair. Being out in the sun has really dried my tresses up badly, and I desperately need a cut. Ugh, can there be a more daunting task than finding a new stylist?

  1. What kind of jobs are you applying for? Good luck, Laura! And hair woes, oh I know. Sort of dreading that if we have to move!

  6. I don't think it's possible to have a more daunting task than finding a new stylist. I just got my haircut today and I like it so much. It was dumb luck that I got the stylist who specializes in curly hair, but I did research the salon quite a bit. Good luck! I hope you keep up with the fun colors!

  9. I definitely agree about the stylist part, it is hard to find someone you trust and know will give you a rockin' mane. Job searches are always difficult, best of luck sweetie. This is a gorgeous building, I wouldn't mind having a door like that. By the freakin way, you look stunning.

  11. Omg, a new stylist!?! When I was a young kid, my mom loved her stylist so much, that even when we moved out of state, she'd drive us back to get our hair done. Insane right?! So yeah - I totes get what you mean about the daunting nature of the whole thing. When my tresses feel dried out, I put olive oil on my hair, put it up in a shower cap, and sleep on it overnight. I put shampoo directly on it before getting it wet, to help wash the oil out properly in the morning. My hair loves it. Good luck with the job hunt!

  14. That building looks amazing - the best part of being in a new city is exploring and finding all sorts of cool little things. And it sounds like the job hunt is starting to come together, slowly but surely, which is perfect. As for your hair, I'm sure you'll sort out what you want to do, just take some time to run it through in your own mind!
