Early Mornings

Though I've been doing it for a week now, I'm still getting used to functioning early in the morning. I haven't relied on coffee since my grad school days, and I'm starting to feel that once cup of Lady Grey during breakfast isn't enough to perk me up. I guess I just have to start going to bed sooner!
I woke up before the sun was even up during the weekend, and after visiting the market, noshed at a great local restaurant nearly. B and I shared a scrumptious parfait with made-from-scratch everything and a gigantic biscuit topped with country gravy. A great way to start a busy weekend, methinks.

  1. It's still warm enough in your area for bare legs? Wow! We got a dusting of snow over the weekend. And I love your dress - it's super ethereal and romantic and you look awesome in it!

  3. Biscuits and gravy is always a good way to start off your day. Coffee is the only way I can exist in the mornings!

  6. Your dress is so pretty! I love all of the colors!! Mornings are rough, I was never a coffee drinker until I started my current job. Now I can't get going without my one cup!

  7. Yay, thank you for putting your lipstick choices up, as well ;) Breakfast looks fab! I'm a breakfast person, myself - I can consume TONS of food in the morning, lol!

  8. Ah yes, the early morning sludgery of doom. Coffee can sometimes be my only ray of sunshine on those days. Despite your early mornings, you still look bright eyed and bushy tailed, but in a good way. Not in a crazed animal way like that implied. I love that lipstick on you. It really looks lovely with your complexion. Congrats on this new job. I'm really happy for you. :D

  13. Wow, that looks like quite a breakfast. I like a full breakfast on the weekends. During the week I juice and have a bigger lunch! Althouh, I love tea and coffee, I could never solely rely on caffeine ... I'd pass out, haha! :-)

  14. I have been getting up early for my job for almost 10 years and I'm still no good at it. I used to not drink coffee and did ok, but I started drinking coffee when I met Matt about 6 years ago and it has just been a caffeine abyss ever since. Now if I don't get a coffee on the way to work, I will probably punch someone lol.

  17. Oh goodness, I'm up at 5am M-F and it's very difficult to really wake up!! If I don't have coffee, I'm NOT a happy person. And that's sad, because I'm a morning person. If I could wake up at 6am I'd be fine, but there is something unreasonable about waking at 5am.

  20. You look beautiful as always, I love your hair. Oh my good god, that biscuit looks so good, I tried to make biscuits and gravy awhile back and I really butchered it... I love the background on your blog btw, it's really pretty.

  21. I have a weakness for all things involving country gravy. It's why I'm not allowed into a Cracker Barrel often or this local diner that does a great version.

  25. You know, I don't think I've ever tried a biscuit with country gravy? I think it's a U.S. thing, though maybe you could find it in older restaurants or rural parts of the country. Visually they don't seem super appealing to the uninitiated, but I heard they are delicious!
