I wanna know your secrets

Hi! My name is Laura. And I'm a naughty blogger. It's been three whole days since I last checked my favorite blogs, and I can't seem to find enough time in the day to shoehorn that into the myriad of things I need to accomplish. I tried this thing called "waking up early," but all it did to me was make me even crankier than I am compared to my usual wake up time. It sucks. For those of you who do work and blog on a daily basis, PLEASE tell me your secret!
Last night, I experienced my first St. Louis snowfall, and it was atrocious. Since I had a long dinner with a friend, I ended up hitting the road for home a bit later than I would have liked, and as a result, had to drive on uncleared roads. Thankfully, there weren't that many cars around because I slid a bazillion times! I love snow, but I hate driving on it. Especially when my car isn't winterized. Hopefully the roads get all nice and clear before I have to go to work today and stay that way over the weekend because I have some major gift shopping to do!

  1. I had to cut my blogging schedule back to 2-3 days per week when I started working full time - there were just not enough hours in the day! And i feel your pain with the winter driving. Truly.

  2. I don't know how people do it. Work, exhaustion, activities... Maybe I just need to be better at managing my time but really I just need to spend that time doing my dishes... It's almost the WEEKEND though!!

  3. You look fabulous doll!! I have no idea how any blogger keeps up really. The lack of sleep and time really to do anything is tight. I could sleep for years at the moment, the weather here doesn't help. I hope you at least find time for yourself, that is most important than a blog :)) Have a lovely weekend doll xx

  4. Haha, I can relate :D ! Today is a holiday tho, so I don't have to do anything than surf the web wearing jammies :--). I don't recommend waking up early, ever, unless it's really obligatory.

You look fab :) ! Have a great weekend ^^

  5. Glad you made it home ok! I don't mind driving in snow when the roads are maintained, but it always seems my town goes over budget and can't plow the roads more than maybe once in a full day of snowfall. The road I live on is always last on the list, too, so I have literally shoveled the entire road by hand along with my neighbor. Just once. Never again.

  6. I love that dress, and I also hate waking up early. Yuck. I always blog during the early morning about the previous day (if I remember), and I usually check bloglovin when I snack on breakfast or lunch.

  7. Beyond prioritizing, the biggest secret regular bloggers have is streamlining the process so producing posts is as efficient as it can be. Using the same photo equipment, the same location, the same set-up. I do that but occasionally I get bored and want to try something new. New always requires more work.

I like this outfit and the necklace really catches the eye. I have a friend who lives in St. Louis; sorry to hear about the snow. Winter hasn't arrived in NY yet.

  8. LOL Laura, you are so cute. What I do is take pics on the weekends and draft posts quickly, so it doesn't take too much time during the week. Try that!

  11. Love this outfit and the pop of blue.

We do that waking up early thing, too, and god, it's exhausting. No time to do anything!

I also take photos on the weekends, like Tracy said, but it's hard when you're a fashion blogger! Haha.

  12. aw, don't be so hard on yourself!
there were times when i went over a month without blogging not to mention neglecting my favorite reads. life happens and i think you're still adjusting to your new schedule.
i utilize the bloglovin' app whenever i can..but try not to get stressed about it anyway.
    (love the scarf, btw! :))
    at least you're updating regularly!

  13. I'd want to know that secret too, I can't seem to have the time in the day to read blogs, write my own, do my job, and live my life :D Always have to prioritize :D But let's not feel about about that, right? Blogging is a hobby that can always wait a bit :) ♥

We don't get snow where I am in Australia, but have driven once in it and was slipping everywhere. Was kinda funny, but also scary haha.

  15. yeah, I still haven't figured out that work/blog balance. it's hard, especially if things get crazy at work. For myself, reading blogs on my phone allows me to keep up, but then I hardly ever comment. There's a trade off for everything it seems!

  16. You look beautiful. If you find the secret for balancing life/work/and blogging please share. There is never enough hours in the day for me.

  17. Lately, I don't feel any guilt in not being able to blog or visit other blogs. I don't know. When I had this blogging hiatus, it felt more normal and okay not to blog on a daily basis. I don't know how others are able to keep up and what have you. So, yeah, they should tell us their secret.

  18. I'm convinced most regular bloggers are students or blog at work. I go in burst - do a bunch of posting at once, and a bunch of reading blogs at once. And now I just stick to reading blogs I truly enjoy - like yours!!

  19. Looking so pretty in this outfit Laura, love the bright blue tights!! I can totally relate to what you are saying, it is really really hard to work and also blog on a daily basis. What I do is that I try to make my posts ahead of time, so that days when I'm totally swamped or just tired all I have to do is click "post" and be done with the day.

  20. love the blues and neutrals! i totally understand not having blogging time. the only way i ever manage is post-dating things. ill spend a spare [right?] few hours and write up a few posts and schedule them out a week or two. holiday stuff gets a little weird and seasonal clothes.. but i figure its better than nothing.. right?

  21. I would love to know the secret too, haha. Not really! Actually, I must say for my lifestyle and working full-time, I am happy with my schedule. Often instead I like to view other media links (instagram, facebook, twitter) it helps to keep up with other blogs that I follow as well. I'm on-the-go for everything, and also schedulling posts helps if you can. I had to scale back my posts to twice a week sometimes three. :-) Love your outfit, especially that scarf! xx/Madison
