Reading Wishlist

For the past 3 years, I've made a goal of reading at least 100 books a year on Goodreads. But this year, I'm not sure I'll be able to come close to that. Not managing to find enough time to read is making me sad. Especially when I have these fun books on my wishlist.

  1. My biggest regret each year is always that I read more...even though I'm pretty much always reading at least a couple of books at a time. But it's never enough to me.

I'm on a big classic literature kick right now - I'm currently reading the Scarlet Letter (which I'm amazed that I've never read before) and Mrs Dalloway.

  6. I have over 100 books on my wish list, but will probably only be able to read about 20 this year. There are so many great books to read, and so little time!

  7. I've been slacking so much in the reading lately, and I know there are so many good new books to read-but I really want to start re-reading books from my childhood again for some reason! Like A Wrinkle In Time-I really want to do that soon!

  8. I'm mid-two books. At work I have The Bucolic Plague by Josh Kilmer-Purcell (because who doesn't love a drag queen turned gentleman farmer who writes memoirs?) and at home I have Promise Not to Tell by Jennifer McMahon. I'm also anxiously awaiting the last Mortal Instruments book because I am apparently a teenage girl.

  10. Oh my goodness, 100 books? I wish I could read that much. I didn't even get my goal of 72 last year and went down to a more realistic 50 this year. As for my wish list, I have way too many books on there!

  11. Man, I know how you feel. I keep increasing my goal though. I'm trying to work hard to make time to read each day even if it's just 15 minutes before I fall asleep. You can do it! I hope you find time to get close to your goal.

  30. My husband loves to read but finds it really difficult to carve out time for it. He's really happy to have found audio books. He listens to them on commutes, when he's cleaning, or believe it or not, in the shower. I hope some of these tick a check box for you. :D

  31. My fave series has been the Legends of Muirwood trilogy by Jeff Wheeler but it's kind of medieval fantasy, which I don't normally get into, but this series sucked me right in. Series-wise, I've also liked the Beautiful Creatures books and the Mortal Instruments series, which I guess is kind of fantasy-like too, HTH!

  32. oh my gosh, i haven't even read magazines in a long time!

  33. I hope so too! I used to listen to tons of audio books when I was driving to school! It really depends on who's narrating though.

  34. oooh medieval fantasy! That sounds like my kind of thing!

  35. I would totally also recommend Josh's original memoir called I Am Not Myself These Days. It's more about when he was a drag queen and his struggles with partying. Which sounds sad, and parts are, but he's really funny, too. I am a sucker for a good humor-based memoir. Lori Nataro is another favorite though she was never a drag queen so, you know, not as amazing. haha

  36. I love reading but I have a hard time planning in advance what I'll be reading next until I'm working on a series or something. I didn't realize the MP has a book out now, wow.
