The cold messes me up

I really wasn't sure about this outfit. In fact, I left the house knowing I didn't feel as put together as I do when I plan out an outfit the night before. But it was cold, and the cold tends to mess up my plans. I ended up adding a long-sleeved turtleneck and a thick scarf just to make me feel comfortable. Then I told myself I'd keep this outfit secret from the blog.

To my surprise, my coworkers liked this look a lot, and I figured, it can't be that bad to post. So here we are! Sorry about the indoor lighting and the unsightly and overfilled shelf in the background! I'm still figuring out a solution to displaying all our books and tchotchkes. Suggestions? or even better, come to my house and fix it up for me! <3

  2. I think it's pretty cute too! I always struggle with book and trinket displays as well...I think I finally developed a system I can live with though.

  3. Yesterday I layered so many things on but I stayed quite warm all day. I don't think I looked good, though. On the other hand, you managed to look cute! :)

  4. i like the outfit as well. the scarf adds such a comforting touch! i actually sold most of my books and kept only my favorites. i couldn't part with them for such a long time but i was overflowing with them. we have a built in bookcase where they are housed now but i think i want to pick up an old wooden step ladder, give it a fresh coat of paint and use it to put my books and other decorations on!

  5. I really like this outfit, too! The scarf adds the perfect finishing touch. I struggle with how to display/store all of my books and keepsakes, too. For now, I'm just doing the best I can with closet space and shelves.

  8. You can never keep anything secret from the blog. We always will find out. That sounded more evil in my head. But really I just want to steal your scarf. It's so cold and it looks so cozy

  14. Your homemade scarf is just gorgeous- the colours! And knee high socks are the bee's knees (way too cold here to wear them unless you're severly layering!)
