Tuesday birthdays

Yesterday, I turned 29. Being that my birthday landed on a weekday, I will be honest and tell you that it was a pretty meh day. No, I'm not lamenting my being one year older, nor am I bemoaning my lackluster midweek celebration devoid of costumes and friends. Just Tuesday birthdays are pretty poopy is all.  Work has been busy and my hormones are acting up, so yeah it's major breakout time. I am also pretty sure that my mood correlates with the phases of the moon, and I go pretty berserk pissy as the moon waxes. Can you see my ugh expression in the photo above?

On the bright side, since my birthday does fall in the (somewhat) middle of the week, that means I get to celebrate on both weekends that sandwich it, right? It's only fair!

  1. You totally get to claim both weekends for celebrations - thems the rules! Also, I'm in love with your awesome skirt. I thought it was a dress at first glance and I loved it but I love it even more knowing that it's separates.

  2. Yep - totally fair. It's more like birthday week, anyway. If you can't have a proper all-out celebration at once, spread it out over ALL THE DAYS.

  3. Happy Birthday! And I totes support and believe in a full week for birthday fun. ESPECIALLY if it falls mid-week. Don't feel too bad about the breakout, I'm struggling like I never have before. Comfort in solidarity yeah? :)

Your outfit is super cute and look! There's no snow on the ground! Woo hoo. It's like the weather warmed up just to celebrate your birth. ;D Wishing you tons of wonderful birthday stuff this week.

  6. Happy birthday!!! Mid-week birthdays definitely have their advantages and I really think birthdays should be celebrated all week long. It only makes sense. Also, celebrate when you feel like celebrating. If you feel meh the day of, give it a few days and then go out and have fun!

I hope you have a wonderful birthday weekend!

  7. Happy Birthday lovely lady! I totally agree that bdays should be an all week celebration....especially when they fall mid-week! Wishing you a gorgeous one indeed! I love this outfit...it reminds me so much of something from a Tim Burton movie! The black and white stripes with the turquoise/minty tights is utter perfection!

  23. Wow, the irony of a breakout on the day you're officially moving one year further from teenagerdom is not lost on me. Anyways, HAPPT BIRTHDAY!!! Sorry these wishes come to you belatedly. I hope you were nice and spoiled despite it being mid-week.

  24. thank you, Cath! You know, I like that mentality of celebrating WHENEVER I feel like celebrating. I feel like celebrating a lot of the time, even when there is no real reason. Well, that should be reason enough, right? ;)
