This past weekend was the first weekend in a while that B and I were either in town or not sick, so all those 48 precious hours were relegated to errand running and house cleaning. If being sick has ever taught me anything, it’s that I should never get sick because catching up with everything that didn’t get done while I was sick is super sucky.
Take for example the process of donating all the books and clothes I no longer use. After going through my shelves and closets, I still have to neatly pack everything, haul them in the car, find a place that takes donations, then drop them off. All those steps take loads of hours to complete. Well, it took me loads of hours. Even though I’m much better at letting go of stuff now, there are still some pieces that I have a hard time with. Like this jacket.
I've gone back and forth deciding whether or not to give away this velvet jacket I thrifted a while back. I think I really like how the color looked with my green hair (1, 2), so I clung to it even though it's not really cut all that flatteringly. In the end, I let this blazer go, and hopefully it will find itself in someone's closet and make them all sorts of fuzzy.
