Food lately (according to my phone)

For the 4th of July, B and I had Homemade Everything Pasta.
Down to the perfectly al dente noodles.
Puffs filled with lemon curd and decorated with sugar icing.
Caprese sammies and baked garlic zucchini rounds
My first attempt at homemade vanilla wafer banana pudding. Those cookies are uneven because they're made from scratch ;) And the dessert on the right is the most righteous pecan pie ever.
Squash blossom deliciousness. Even earthier with a generous helping of shiitake.
Perfect for filling quesadillas.
Strawberry season is happiness season!

  6. Yup! Homemade pasta is so good, but you gotta get it really thin! We need to get a pasta machine for that!

  12. Ben made the pasta, and I asked but he doesn't remember where he got the recipe online. Knowing him, it probably was an Alton Brown one though. And no, we don't have a machine. We don't eat enough pasta to warrant a pasta maker, though it would have been super handy!

  15. Can you post your squash blossom recipe. Kudos on the homemade pasta. Did you hand roll or do you have a mixer attachment?

  16. Kat! The squash blossoms are super easy to make-- I didn't even have a recipe. I pretty much added them to butter-sauteed mushrooms seasoned with some salt, pepper, and herbs I had on hand. Then they went on top of a pita with some chevre spread on top. Then I heated it in the oven. Easy!
