Humidity made me do it

dress, knit blazer: Old Navy
sandals: DSW

Even though my hair is much shorter than I've had it for a very long time, the humidity makes even this length a pain in the ass. And I swear, it feels like I have the poofiest hair ever. But really, humidity makes my hair fall limp like a many sad, deflated balloons. Humidity also forced me to get another, rather drastic (to me, at least) snip, snip over the weekend. I got a few inches lopped of the length of my hair and now have my swishy sideswept bangs back! (Pics on Instagram, if you're so inclined to see!)

  2. Looks good. Cute dress too.

I've been on YouTube the past couple of days looking at pixie cuts. It'll be fall soon, but I wouldn't mind a change from long hair.

  4. Love the dress! Is it straps or short sleeved? Your new haircut on IG is adorable. How'd you settle on this cut? Was it a recommendation from your stylist or did you find a pic somewhere and take it in? You make me want this cut. I've spent so long growing out my bangs I'd probably kick myself, over and over for cutting them. But, you look so chic with it I just don't know if I can resist the temptation!

  6. I was a bit apprehensive about going too short, but so far, not a lotta poof! I totes cannot wait for the cooler, less humid temps!

  7. Thanks, Rachel! This dress is actually 3/4 sleeved, and I haven't worn it in a while because... white gets so dirty so easily! As for my hair, I just really wanted a change and even though my hair was already shorter than I'd had it for a long time, I thought I'd try something new and sharper looking, if that makes sense? ;) Do you like exploring different hair cuts? I think I'm a lot more daring with my hair (colorwise and cuts) compared to other things like tattoos, piercings, and makeup. I missed having bangs, but retraining them to curve is proving to be a pain.

  8. A.) I just fell in love with the dress even more. I hate finding that perfect whispy dress but being condemned to it having some piddly thin spaghetti straps. For someone like me, it makes the proportions look all wrong since I've got so much going on in the chesticle region. Sleeves would make it work so much better on my figure.

I do love exploring haircuts. A little too much and to my own detriment if you know what I mean. :D I've had some doozies that didn't quite suit my face shape just because I wanted to try something I'd never had. I love the fact that I have natural wave and curl in my hair but at the moment I'm sort of hating how frumpy I feel as it reaches my shoulders again. Then again, winter is coming. (Omg, I can't EVEN say that without hearing it from GoT) And I'm kind of missing being able to tie my hair back or do creative bun type things.

  9. In the second photo, it looks like you're trying to demonstrate the poof feel! But seriously your hair looks sleek and amazing despite the humidity. I love the length and that you wear it straight or curled!

  10. Oh me too! Spag straps are the worst for me, and so many dresses and tops are made with them! I understand the chesticle dilemma. I;m the same way hair-wise, and I've had loads of bad hairstyles, but meh-- hair is just hair, right? And I wanna try stuff all the time!
